IBM Capstone Project

The project revolves around the economic significance of reusable rocket technology, particularly focusing on SpaceX’s Falcon 9. Traditionally, rocket launches incur exorbitant costs, with the Falcon 9 advertised at a staggering 165 million dollars. However, SpaceX’s innovative approach involves the reusability of the first stage, resulting in substantial cost savings.

The primary challenge addressed by this project is the prediction of the Falcon 9 rocket’s first stage landing. Successfully predicting whether the first stage will land not only influences the efficiency of the launch process but also directly impacts the overall cost of the mission. The project aims to develop a predictive model that can determine with accuracy whether the Falcon 9 first stage will land successfully or not, contributing to the broader goal of cost-effective and sustainable space exploration.
